Why is my view not displayed or cannot be loaded?
If Asset Manager cannot show your views or cannot load the page, the problem is usually one of a few temporary or permission-related issues.
What is a view?
In Asset Manager, a view is a saved way of working with asset data.
A view can include:
-
the selected schema
-
object type scope
-
filters
-
sorting
-
visible columns
When a view cannot be displayed or loaded, it usually means Asset Manager could not access Jira Assets or could not load the saved views list.
1. You do not have access to Jira Assets
You may see:
Assets access is required
This app cannot load because the current user does not have access to Jira Assets.
What this means:
-
Your Jira user does not currently have permission to use Jira Assets.
-
Asset Manager depends on Jira Assets access and cannot load without it.
What to do:
-
Confirm that your Jira account has access to Assets.
-
If you are not sure, contact your Jira or Assets administrator.
-
After access is granted, open Asset Manager again and click
Retry.
2. Jira Assets is temporarily unavailable
You may see:
Couldn't load views
Assets is temporarily unavailable. Retry in a moment.
What this means:
-
Jira Assets is currently unavailable for a short time.
-
This is usually temporary.
What to do:
-
Wait a moment and click
Retry. -
Refresh the page and try again.
-
If the issue continues, try again later.
3. Jira Assets is temporarily rate limited
You may see:
Couldn't load views
Assets is temporarily rate limited. Retry in a moment.
What this means:
-
Jira Assets is receiving too many requests in a short period.
-
Asset Manager is waiting for Jira Assets to allow more requests.
What to do:
-
Wait briefly, then click
Retry. -
Avoid repeatedly refreshing the page.
-
If this happens often, try again later when usage is lower.
4. The views directory could not be loaded
You may see:
Couldn't load views
Failed to load the views directory.
What this means:
-
Asset Manager could not load the saved views list.
-
This can happen because of a temporary backend or Assets loading issue.
What to do:
-
Click
Retry. -
Refresh the page.
-
If the problem continues, try again later or contact support.
Quick checks
Before reporting the issue, try these steps:
-
Click
Retry. -
Refresh the browser page.
-
Confirm that you can access Jira Assets directly.
-
Wait a minute and try again.
-
Ask your Jira admin whether your account has Assets access.
When to contact support
Contact support if:
-
you continue to see the same error after retrying
-
other users can open Asset Manager but you cannot
-
you believe you should already have Jira Assets access
-
the issue continues for an extended period
