How to change fields in an existing export

Any existing export owned by the current Jira user can be loaded in the Snowflake for Jira app’s Export dialog, and then the field selections can be changed.

First, run the search or filter for the existing export from the Jira Issue Navigator. If you do not know the search or filter that was used to populate the export, you can query the S4J_EXPORTS table in Snowflake and find the row that matches your export. The JQL column in this row contains the search query that was used to populate the export.

After running your search in the Jira Issue Navigator, open the Snowflake for Jira app’s Export dialog.

In the Export dialog, select your existing export from the Choose export drop down. This loads the export’s name, field selections, additional export options, and update schedule. You can now change any of these attributes. When you are finished with your changes, click either the Change Columns or the Export button and your changes will be applied in Snowflake. The app will perform different actions based on which button you use:

  • Change Columns:

    • Applies column changes to the export.

    • Does not change the JQL associated with the export.

    • Does not export any data to Snowflake.

  • Export:

    • Applies column changes to the export.

    • Changes the JQL associated with the export (if different JQL was used in the issue navigator).

    • Exports data to Snowflake.

      • If custom fields were added to the export, only data that has changed since the earliest use of any custom field in the set, will be exported to Snowflake.

      • If system fields were added to the export, the export table will be truncated and fully refreshed.
